In science, we learned that we inherit traits from our parents. In my family, I inherited my mom's brown eyes and hair. I think i look like my dad because I have the right looks like his nose and his ears. Some of my brothers inherited some of my traits. My little brother inherited my looks like my eyes and my nose and mouth and ears. Some people say he really looks like me and I don't agree with it.
When you inherit some thing, you pass it on to someone else. For example, when one of your family members die, you inherit what ever they had.

In science class we learned how to find the volume of an irregularly shaped object. For example, if you put a rock in a glass of water, it displaces the water or it makes the water rise. To find the volume if that object, we had to use a graduated cylinder. So say that the volume was 40ml, then when we drop the rock it rises to 60ml. So you subtract the difference from before the rock was dropped, to after the rock was dropped. So 60 - 20 is 20ml. The volume of the rock is 20ml.
In science class, I learned how to find the volume of an irregularly shaped object. It was kind of difficult before, but now it is really easy. I understood it because she used an example using a graduated cylinder.

In science my class we are studying the metric system. Science isn't one of my strongest subjects, but it is good to learn new things. The most interesting part was learning how the metric system works. There are 10 millimeters in a centimeter and 100 centimeters in a meter. I got confused on where were the millimeters in the ruler. They were the tiny lines in on the ruler. I never really studied science in the 6th grade, but in the 5th grade and that is why science is a  little difficult.
My class has to study for a test on chapter 1 on the 14 of September. Mrs Poole is going to Washington D.C. because our school is nominated for an award in science and she is going  to be away for one week.
