In science, we learn about life and why things happen. Some of the things we will be doing are dissecting things, working with chemicals, and much more.

Domains and Kingdoms
|
For this project, we had to make a Glogster about the domains and kingdoms. The 3 domains are Eukarya, Bacteria, and Archaea. The 4 kingdoms are Protista, Fungi, Plantae, and Animalia. All of these organisms are different.
Domains and kingdomes are apart of classification. Classification is putting things into groups based on characteristics the things share. There are eight types of classification. They are Domain, Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, and Species. You can remember this by saying Do Kings Play Chess On Fuzzy Green Squares. That's how I remembered all eight types of classifications. |

This project was for us to learn the parts of a cell. My group and I decided to make an animal cell and animal cells have these parts. What I learned was the parts of an animal cell and their function. At first I didn't know the parts of a cell or the function. After the parts of a cell unit, I knew all of the parts of a cell and I passed the test.
This reminds me of the time when my group and I had to build a cake that was the shape of Germany and all of the cities. At first I was overwhelmed, and I thought me and my group weren't going to do a great job. Then my group got help and we were able to do the project. Not only did we finish, we got an A+. For this project, we used a lot of candy and cake.

Characteristics of living things
|
This project is about the 6 characteristics of living things. Every living thing has these characteristics. I learned that you need these characteristics to be considered alive. If you don't have these characteristics, then you are a non living thing. Know I know the characteristics of living things, so I can teach my brothers and sisters.
This reminds me of a time in fifth grade when I did a poster project about the water cycle. My teacher had my class do a project about the water cycle on a poster. It was difficult at first, but I got help from my teacher and I was able to get an A. For this project we used Glogster. Glogster lets you make posters online without using poster board. |
