The Grand Canyon is a magnificent place to go. The Grand Canyon was formed many years ago. The question is how does the Grand Canyon demonstrate superposition and cross-cutting. The Grand Canyon demonstrates superposition because it was formed with many layers of rock. There are many layers of rock in the Grand Canyon that makes it demonstrate superposition.

Another question is how does the Grand Canyon demonstrate cross-cutting. Cross-cutting is where you cross and other thing. In the Grand Canyon, cross-cutting is shown by a layer of rock cutting another layer of rock. This is shown by a color of a rock cutting another color of rock.

In science, we learned that the peppered moth population was changing color. Instead of being white, they were turning black all of a sudden. A scientist named Dr. Kettlewell was trying to find out why peppered moths were changing color. He suspected that pollution was causing all of this. Then he found out that it was the DNA of the moths that made the turn black. Since the forests were polluted, the moths used natural selection and changed their color from white to black.

What I learned was how the population of peppered moths was changing and what made it change. Now there are many factories using less pollution to help the peppered moth population. I predict in the future that the peppered moth population will change color and become white again because since so many companies are using less pollution, then that means that the color of the peppered moth will be white again.

Evolution is when and organism changes over time. When that happens, other organisms follow and change. Overpopulation is when there are too many organisms living in one place. When that happens, we start too use a lot of resources and consume them. When that happens, competition takes place.

Competition is where you start to fight over resources like food or shelter. It can cause havoc all around. When this happens evolution takes place. Evolution happens because when resources are being consumed, then people start to adapt to the losing resources and evolutionize. Then people start to evolve and become into new organisms. After that happened, you have a whole new breed of organisms.

In science, we were learning about genetics. We did this thing called the paper pet family project to learn how genes are inherited from you parents. I learned how genes are inherited from parent to offspring. To inherit you looks, you have this things called genotypes. Genotypes are used to determine your phenotype. Genotypes look like this, Bb. We also use punnet squares to keep track of genotypes.

This project relates to my family because I inherit my looks from my parents. In my family, brown hair is the dominant trait and black hair is the recessive. So the genotype would look like this, BB, Bb, bb. The big b is the dominant trait which is brown hair and the little b is recessive trait for black hair. My family also has brown eyes which is dominant and black eyes which is recessive.
