It is almost spring break, and I am so excited. I am really looking forward to just relaxing all day. Many people go to the beach for spring break, but me, I just going to be lazy all day. I have had to many things to do during the 3rd quarter. Once I had five tests in one day! That's a lot. I also had to do three projects to do, and one of the projects I didn't even know what to do.
   Its going to be great not having to do homework or doing projects and tests. It will also be boring because I never have fun during any break. I guess it won't be a total lose. I will get to play video games and stay up and sleep late.

    In core, we learned that there was a time of renewal after the Middle Ages which was called the Renaissance. In the Renaissance, there were many new things. There were painter, sculptors, writers, and many more things. There were two individuals who stood out during the Renaissance. There names are Michelangelo and Leonardo Da Vinci. The question is which one of these famous people would have I liked to have met?

    I would have liked to have met Leonardo Da Vinci because he had many more interests than Michelangelo. Leonardo painted many paintings including the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper. The Mona Lisa painting is one of the most famous paintings in the world. Leonardo was also and inventor. He had many notebooks filled with design of inventions including a design of a helicopter which would couldn't have been invented at the time. Leonardo also had notebooks with drawings of the human body.

In the Middle Ages, the Crusades were fought. The Crusades were about the Holy Land. They were fought against Christians and Muslims. The First Crusade was a total failure. The Christians lost to the Muslims. Then the Second Crusade was fought. The Christians also lost to the Muslims. All of the Crusades were a big failure for the Christians. With no help, they never won a Crusade.

The Crusades wouldn't have a positive effect on the Muslims. The Muslims hated the Christians back then and that anger still goes on today.

In core, we learned about how the affects of Black Death affected Europe. Black Death was a plague that spread all around Europe and killed millions of people. Black Death started when some rats came to Europe and had fleas that were infected with the bubonic plague. Many people died of this disease. People who wanted to leave spread the plague even farther.

I belong to a noble family. Life is good because my family is rich. When I was doing some work, my uncle walks in the door. He tells me that the pope has called him to go to the Crusades and become a Crusader. My uncle says that he is very ill and that he will not be able to go. He tells me that I have to go join the Crusades. It will be a long a dangerous journey. I think about it for a moment.

If I join, then my uncle will rest and get better, but I could die in war. I decide to join because it will be good for my uncle to rest up and get better. I go to the church to meet with the pope. I tell the pope that my uncle is very ill and that he can't join the Crusades and that I will take his place. The pope allows me to join. I am thrilled and he says that I will leave tomorrow morning. I go and get my armor that has a cross on it to represent Jesus. I then go home to do some last minute things with my uncle.

I wake up next morning and know that I will have to leave. I say goodbye to my uncle and tell him get better. He gives me a sword that was suppose to be his, but gave it to me. Then I go to the church that has all the Crusaders there. The pope gives a speech about how we are representing God and Jesus.

My name is Sir Estebus and I am the son of the king in France. I am thirteen years old and my life is great. One day my father said he wanted to be allies with a very power noble. They would become allies if I married one of three children in the noble's family. My dad encouraged me to marry one of them because he said it could help him a lot. Then he said if I didn't get married, he would shame me for life.

I just didn't know how to respond and it was so sudden too. I thought about it for a moment and looked at the bright side of it. I could have kids, have my own house and live my life with my family. There was also the fact that it could be trouble. I decided that I would get married to one of the children because it could really help my father and the noble. If I said no, then my father would be very mad at me and could punish me. So then I picked one of the children and became married. Now my father is and ally with the noble who would help so much in ruling the kingdom.

I am so lonely right now. After learning my real name was Crispin, Father Quinnel was murdered. I suspect that it was John Aycliffe or the steward. Right now I am all alone in the woods. I then spot something in the distance. I walk faster to get a closer look. I see a man hanging on the gallows. There is a note on him, but I can't read so I move on. Then I see an old abandon church. I run to see what is inside.

Once I get inside the church, I look around to see what is going on. I hear some drums beating and I don't know what is going on. Then I see a man playing the drums. He then immediately gets his knife out. I tell him that I am just a boy. He then eases of. Then he starts yelling at me for doing this. He tells me why I am here. I tell him that I was running away for my life because they accused me of stealing. Then he asks me for my name and I tell him my name was Crispin.

He starts to laugh and tells me to tell him my other name. I tell him that is my name.

It was a long day of work and I was returning to my village. I reached the top of the hill when I smelled smoke. I didn't know what it was. I thought I was a barbeque. I was still alarmed. I ran to my village to see what it was. Finally, I see my village. Then my fears are realized. My village was on fire. At that point I didn't know what to do.

In the distance I see some sails moving away on a river. The only thing I knew was that ships can't be in rivers because rivers are too shallow. Then I knew who it was. I knew that the Vikings had attacked our village, At that point I ran to my village. I knew the Vikings were ferocious warriors and that they could destroy anyone in sight. When I got to my village, there were a lot of dead people. I went to my house and saw my family had been spared, but had stolen everything. I didn't know why they spared them, but I was just glad they had been spared.

Charlemagne was a warrior and a strong king in the Middle Ages. He was important because he led the Franks in building a huge empire. He spent much of his time in war. His empire included much of France. He conquered parts of the former Roman Empire. He then was crowned Emperor of in the 800s. He also loved education. He helped build schools in his empire.

What I learned was that Charlemagne was a fierce warrior and strong king. He led the Franks in building a huge empire. He then would be crowned Emperor in the 800s. He also built schools in his empire because of his love for education. Charlemagne helped Europe get back into shape and control it. At that time Europe was a dangerous place after the fall of Rome.

On New Year's, everybody makes a resolution. A resolution is what you are going to do better to make the new year better. I made a resolution to do better at school. I always try my best, but this year was kind of hard. Some of the projects were easy, some hard. This year I want to do better so that I can get better grades. I will keep this resolution so that I can succeed.

The first thing that I will do is study more. I haven't been studying because I already know the material. When a really hard topic comes, then I start to study so that I will understand it. The next step is to get more help. I've been getting a lot of help last quarter because I didn't get it. It is never bad to get help, but some people don't like getting help because they don't want to embarrass themselves.

Everybody makes a resolution because they want to improve their lives. The one resolution that almost all people make is that they're going to go join a gym. Alot lot of people want to lose weight, so they join a gym. After a few weeks of months, the people give up and never come back.
